La veritte eternelle, the eternal truth. Many of us believe and worship the god. What is god anyway? Many say he is the only source of Energy. God is used wherever phusics fails. The creation of universe is attributed to the god. The creation of life on the earth is attributed to the god. Wherever our theories fail we associate god. God is worshipped in many forms. There are many religions, many principles to praise and justify the existence of god. God is pictured as the forgiver, punisher, guardian, rescuer, creator, destoryer and whatnot. They are not only confusing but also contradicting each other. The stories of the god are equally eccentric. God is supposed to have awakened the dead, killed the immortals etcetra. There are religoous books like the Bible, Quran, Bhaghavata, Tora etcetra that explains these stories. The paper work available on god is larger than the largest ocean on the earth. Yet we find atheists!
When you have so many things about god, it is indeed difficult to decide which is the truth, the eternal truth. When man came into existance, did he believe in god? If not, when did this principle of god came into existance? And how exactly it was derived and why?
There are in fact no exact answers for these questions. Analysing the human behaviour however, you can arrive at the nearest possible answer. When man arrived on earth, he was totally wild. Hunting for food, sleeping in caves, no civilisation. It was just a struggle for survival. Human thinking was subdued by this struggle. He could not explain any physical phenomenon. As human race evolved, man started asking quetions. Questions to himself and to the world. But he had no answers. Everything was intangible. Then he started attributing every inexplicable physical phenomenon to the god. Sun, moon, earth, trees, animals, birds, water eveyrthing. Everything was just god for him. And this belief continued through generations, ages.
But gradually human were able to find proper answers for their questions. It was a rebellion against the god, agianst the beliefs of the scoiety then. Physics took over. Human discovered amazing things about the nature, universe. The number of non-believers of god gradually increased. It was science(physics) replacing god.
Though we are civilised now, we have enhanced thinking power and unlimited resouces to research, we still attribute the intagible physical phenomenon to god. And I clearly think that is wrong.
So does god exist?
Well, answer to this question is a bit complex. God exist only if there is a believer (theist). God exists in the mind (heart or soul) of the believers. People have said many things about the god. Lemme just take a few points from the greats.
- Atma and paramatma are one and the same (advaita philosophy, Sri. Shankaracharya)
- There is only one god but many ways to reach him. (source: unknown)
- There is only one soul for a body.(source: unknown)
- God gives to strength and the power to face challenges. (Gita)
So, the eternal truth is, my friend, if you believe in god, be truthful to yourself. There is no need to go to a temple, a mosque or a church. There is no need to follow a religion. God is within all of us.

In India, Atheism is almost as old as the Vedic Tradition...

Nice line of thoughts man....
I have pondered about this 'God' idea several times. I wouldn't talk about religions, faiths, communities etc. coz' those are too man-made! So, assuming that there is just one single God, i have started to believe that this 'God' is nothing but positive energy within the universe. You just need to reach out to that energy, and this energy itself creates wonders for you.
Now how do we reach out to that energy? Most of the times, through self-control. For eg. when we build a dam around some flowing water, we create lot of energy around it. Similarly, in various forms like meditation (forced 'no thought'; concentration also requires effort from our side) or fasting, or charity, or simply going out of the way to a temple and praying etc. itself requires effort from our side. This creates positive energy around you, and the things one is trying to acheieve by doing all this knowingly or unknowingly get done, coz' of the presence of this positive energy that goes into doing it. It is also cultivated by just being good; good to others, fellow human beings as well as animals, being kind, resisting anger, egos; not hurting people etc. Remember hurting people generates negative energy on their side, which could affect you. Sometimes, we don't necessarily pray for something, but still we get it! Some people call this Luck! But, can't it be simply this? I am not sure whether i am making this point clear, as these were only thoughts till now, which i am trying to express here. Somehow, i have tried to follow these in my life till now, and i am somehow happy with my beliefs. Maybe, this is just my way of interpreting God, as nobody till today has been able to define God. Anyways , glad that i was able to write down my thoughts here..Maybe, God and physics are related. Someday, some scientist may come up with similar theories and then we'll start believing all this. Then there won't be any theists left in the world!
hi shashank.
good piece of info. i dont know n u also dont know the source of wat ur telling in ur blog for most of teh things.
wat i can understand is that ur understanding about god is not correct . i mean it is not complete. here n there some of the points r ok but most of teh things ur talking abt god is not correct.
if v dont know something then v hav to ask from the one who knows it. i gave the example of going to college to learne engg. now a person may say, i wil not go to college but read all teh books that r studied there. even though he has studied all the books of engg, he is not called as a enggineer. right.
similarly, to know abt god u hav to ask from the one who knows god.
in the begining of this artical wat ever ur teling is very true. that as man advanced in science he replaced god with science.
i strongly do not agree with u saying god is there only if u belive n if u dont he is not there. actually v dont hav the eyes to c god. god is every where.
first thing v hav to ask some1 who does not belive in existance of god is "tel me something which does not exist". and the answer is there is nothing that does exist. think for a while.......
ya there is nothing that does not exist. some 1 may say AN EGG OF A HORSE DOES NOT EXIST but here in 1 statement there r two things that do exist. a hose do exist anf the egg also exist. may not b of horse but point is u cannot say anything that does not exist.
and if v say GOD DOES NOT EXIST, it means god do exist. it is as simple as that.
but problem is as i told earlier v dont hav the eyes to c god. how to justify this?
now v know that all arond us radio waves n micro waves r there all the time. even the mobile signals r around us. so as the tv signals radio signals..... can v c them? no its not possible. our vision is limited. but u can understand its presence only by using a instrument that can trap it or transform it into a understandable form. like cell phones, tv, radio...
another ex to prove the existance of god is, now say u hav a watch. any 1 wil ask a commen question when u show it. WHO IS THE MANUFACTURER OR DESIGNER????? right? ya so for evry designe there is a designer. every thing present around us there is a manufacturer. similarly dont u think the for such a ceration to exist there is a need of some designer, manufactrur, etc...if u think so then that is God. God is called os "sarva karana karanam" - cause of all causes (source: Brahama Samahita chapter 5, verse 1).
u also talked abt aathma n paramathama. i would like to tel something abt that.
in india espessially, every one of us know that we hav soul (aathma). but v dont realize it. now v can understand it with common sense.well common sence is very uncommon in Kali Yuga. i guess u hav it.
1)sopose some one dies v say he passed away. but the body is still there liying infront of us.then who is that who passed away
2)now u ask these questions to ur self, which is ur hand, ur leg, ur head, ur eyes, ....and ur body. now v r able to point out every thing n when it comes to body v hav to point out our whole body. noe the final question, who r u? show me urself? then 1 may point out to his whole body. but ur body n u r different. isnt it???
3)last one. in our day to day life, v use my this, my that, etc... and not I this, I that,... so there is difference between me and I.
from all these examples, v can understand that, v r different from our body. and the answer to the question who r we is that we r not the bodies but the eternal Soul or the Aathma. in scriptures, the nature of soul is described as Sat-Chit-Aananda. Sat means eternal, Chit means Full of Knowledge and Aananda means full of Bliss. that is the nature of soul.
i wil tell more on this tommorow. replay me ur taughts
hey it was nice one... nice thoughts on something which we haven't seen or sensed[may be sometimes it happens,if u realise].. why dont you something about LOVE!!!! i think you'll having even more better thoughts abt it.wish to see your postings on it soon.take care.all the best.
